This tutorial covers the improvements and new features introduced in PicoScope 6.6, widely considered the most stable and capable build to date. Tom walks through a range of enhancements including smoother navigation of large captures, restored rapid trigger support, animated GIF export, and expanded streaming mode performance with new time base options up to 1000 seconds/division.

A significant portion focuses on post-capture filtering, demonstrating how filters can now be applied, removed, or adjusted on saved captures across block mode, streaming mode, and 3000 series files.

The other major topic is frequency math channels, including how to build an RPM graph using the frequency() function. Tom covers the math behind converting frequency to RPM for different signal types, using real-world diagnostic captures to illustrate how RPM graphing can help identify the sequence of events during a stall or cutout condition.

Other items briefly covered include:

  • Customizable feature visibility in Tools/Preferences
  • User-defined keyboard shortcuts
  • Slow sampling display mode
  • Right-click reference waveform creation
  • Expanded frequency ranges for 4000 series scopes
  • Macro recorder (noted as currently non-functional)
  • Installing the beta alongside an existing release build
