This module wraps up the injector series by walking through two real-world diagnostic scenarios using a scope.

The first covers a dead cylinder on a 1995 Windstar 3.8, where injector voltage and current waveforms captured at the PCM reveal a failed PCM driver. The case illustrates how a single scope capture can confirm a diagnosis and guide next steps, including verifying the injector itself before installing a new PCM.

The second half introduces fuel flow comparison using the First Look pulse sensor in conjunction with a scope. Topics include:

  • How the First Look sensor works and where to connect it
  • Reading fuel rail pulsations to compare relative injector flow
  • Identifying dead or underperforming injectors, including very subtle flow differences
  • Differences in pulse signatures between injector banks

The module closes with a summary of the full injector series, recapping the three injector drive types, electrical and mechanical failure modes, and the value of combining voltage, current, and flow analysis for efficient diagnosis.
