Looks like a very capable unit. We have one on order so we can have a play with it.
My main concerns with this for automotive would be the added risk.
It has a 50v max input like the 3000 series, so forgetting the attenuator would likely cause damage as it did with those.
Also, there is no thermal fuse protection so a ground loop error could be fatal to the scope.
As a test and measurement scope....damage from either of these could void any warranty.
Currently, it is supposed to work with the automotive PicoScope but this may not be the case for future automotive PicoScope software. That's no big deal though. The automotive PicoScope provides no real additional functionality anyway.
Based on the responses we are getting, I can see that this IS going to be used for automotive work. At this point, we would be able to supply them on a special order basis. We'll see where it goes from there....
