EASE DIAGNOSTIC - Feedback Please?
Apr 4th, 2011 at 8:24pm

Hi Fellow nerds,

I'm looking for a good scanner platform as a compliment to my PICO down here in sunny Adelaide South Australia.

Thinking about Solus or Ethos but the EASE laptop based software looks impressive.

Anyone out there with thoughts and feedback on EASE or other recommendations please?

Cheesy

I use the EASE as my primary scanner and I use it quite frequently. I don't have much input on other comparable scanners but I do have some info in regards to the EASE for you. I have made several posts in regards to the EASE, check out this thread, reply #3: http://www.autonerdz.com/cgi/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1300851328

Here's a link to an iatn thread about EASE: http://members.iatn.net/forums/read/msg.aspx?f=forum8&m=112320&fv=0&ar=1013

Here's another iatn link in which I wrote a some more detailed info in regards to the EASE program: http://members.iatn.net/forums/read/msg.aspx?f=forum8&m=110341&fv=0&ar=994
Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions and I'll help you where i can.

I just picked up the Auto Enginuity. No need for subscriptions and updates are only 50 bucks a year with 4 per year. I purchased the Domestic and Asian software kit with the enhanced software for 1350.00 $US$
The enhanced software covers ABS, BCM, TCM and a host of others, with one year of updates from date of purchase. The PC software updates and interface updates are all free, just like the PICO.  For me, it was the only choice.  I also have a GM Tech-2.

Hi PDU,
the G-Scan is on it's way to being the "must have" AM scantool in Australia. The software is accurate and coverage is ever increasing .
I've had snap-on and still own a Hanatech ultra scan, carman and autoenginuity, but reach for the G-Scan hands down every time.

What sort of vehicles do you work on ?

couldn't agree more with brad, its a great scantool even for the jap imports that are coming in. i too have the carman VG+ but like you, the speed and ease of the gscan makes it my first preference.

Solus Pro would be my first choice. I hear a lot of good things about the EASE and AE. Bur i wonder if they are as user friendly as the Snap on Solus, especially when it comes to throttle body relearns and the like.

yep starting an apprenticeship very late Cheesy, right now the learning material seems to be like revision for me as i've had scantool and oscilloscope training in the past that has really helped with diagnosing today's modern cars.
