This class, taught by veteran technician and Auto Nerds owner Trevor, is a hands-on introduction to using PicoScope for automotive diagnostics. The goal is to get technicians to a point of profitability with a scope — making confident diagnoses quickly and efficiently.

Topics covered include:

• Scope fundamentals: what a scope measures (voltage and time), AC vs. DC signals, and Ohm's Law as it applies to scope use
• Hardware overview: PicoScope models, test leads, attenuators, current probes, secondary ignition probes, and pressure transducers
• Software walkthrough: time base, sample rate, channel settings, coupling modes, filtering, scaling, and triggers (including the window dropout trigger)
• Practical techniques: grounding best practices, where and how to connect, voltage drop, current ramps, and relative compression testing
• Real-world case studies demonstrating how to gather diagnostic information quickly and move on to the next job

The afternoon session includes hands-on time where attendees use the scope on actual vehicles.
