Live chat forum usage?
Dec 3rd, 2011 at 12:09pm

Maybe I'm wacky, but after a few waking hours of not being around cars I get stir crazy and need to ingest some automotive info, sometimes I run out of resources and would enjoy something new.
I'm wondering how many of you out there would actually spend time in a live chat type forum on this site?  I realize globally speaking there aren't relatively a lot of memebers, and there are quite a few different time zones to deal with, but I was just curious.

personally i hate chat rooms. I get paid to keep my friends computer up to date on yahoo chat. Theres nothing but spamming, bots, voice laggers and booters. its a full time headache. Tom would probably agree on that one.
when im not working on cars I think about women - especially one I just met with 38ds, and good old wild turkey 101.

I like cars but as far as a full time chat room I wouldnt waste my time

no offense preston just my opinion Wink

No, I'm not offended, I think my girls are somewhere around that size too, but she bought hers before I met her, The Almighty didn't give them to her  Smiley. ( Okay, I'll stop it with the jabs, I don't even think anybody is getting them anymore anyways.)

Oh, you were talking about the chat room idea.  Yeah, I know it's probably pointless, kinda realized that after posting.  Im just bored as hell right now is all.  See, I live in the rainiest F-ing place in the world AND have no garage to screw around in, PLUS I don't even have a covered are for barbecuing!!!  I'm basically living every mans worst nightmare right now, ha ha ha

By the way, Wild Turkey aint got nothing on Red Breast Irish whiskey.  Oh, and I had to order a damn Toyota throttle body from Kentucky the other day, nobody else had one except California which was going to be like 3 times the price, I had to laugh.

wild turkey is bourbon. And to me its the best. Its the unique limestone water that makes it so good - and the only place theres water like that is here in KY. Hence being the bourbon capitol of the world

Whiskeys are distilled from a fermented mash of grain (usually corn, rye, barley or wheat) and then aged in oak barrels.

Bourbon is distilled from a mash of grain containing not less than 51 percent corn and is aged four years in new charcoal oak barrels.

so the main difference is that  bourbon is mostly corn - making it more like moonshine - and it is distilled in a NEW barrel for a minimum of four years.

whiskey has no minimum age - usually about a year before they pull it.

I prefer my wild turkey 101 bourbon. drink it straight and compare it to other brands and youll see the difference Wink
they call it the 'clint eastwood' of bourbons. Its actually made the old fashioned way instead of with new technology. To me for 20 bucks a fifth - there nothing better. You dont even need chaser its so good.

Makers mark is top of the line as well, but a few more$$$$$

To add to that, many Irish whiskeys are actually aged in barrels from american distilleries that are already used.  Maybe that's what makes them so good.  I like the turkey, its 2 of my closest friends prefered beverage, needless to say a ton of it has been consumed throughout the years, bachelor parties, and weddings.   Smiley

yeah you got that right.
the distilleries out here make a killing off reselling the barrels.
if you ever want a good low cost bourbon and I mean cheap

get some heaven hill or very old bartons or even ancient age

very cheap but very good bourbon

but doesnt have the mellow tone or the burn of WT 101

anyway this is turning into a adult beverage discussion
sorry for hijacking the thread preston - got sidetracked Grin
took a sip of the 101 just now

We do have a chat room.  We were using it as part of Group Therapy but not since the last session when we changed over to the new method that has built in chat.

The chat room is still available for Picogroup members that want to use it.  Details on this are posted in the October 2011 Group Therapy announcement. Room name is there for other times you want to use the chat.  Link in the For Autonerdz Picogroup Members tab on the site.

Yeah, there is that, I was just thinking about something that was on the main forums screen that would be readily available for people to just go into without planning ahead between a group of people.  No big deal, I think I was just so bored because my college football season is over. Wink

It’s a great opportunity to have at the therapy, if I have a question and won’t interrupt the talking.  Smiley

But I wouldn’t use it at a daily basis.

Preston,

Be sure to read the latest group Therapy announcement as all has changed.  It's a lot better and easier now I think.

If you want to do a dry run to see how it goes, please feel free to call us when we are in the office and we would be happy to do that with you.
