Still having trouble posting:

• If I add an attachment than preview I get an endless loop of reentering the attachment
• If I post without previewing it seems to post

Looks like inserting a table works!

What I am trying to do is to put in some text than a picture.

That would explain why I can see some posts that Do have Text, Image, Text... but I can't get it to work.

To get an attachment to stick you have to post.  Preview removes them.  This is a security thing to prevent someone from uploading a malicious attachment anonymously.

Before we could attach anything here, users used to send me the attachments and I would load them on the server manually and give them links.  Then you could put the link in line with the text anywhere you wanted.

The system now allows you to attach things yourself but there is no method to place the images inline.  They appear at the end of the text.

Most just add some text to the image itself if they want text to go with an image.

If you would like me to load up some images for you manually the old way, just let me know.

Preview works just like it is supposed to work.  It's an inconvenience that the attachments are not part of the preview result but this is for better security.

If the attachments were uploaded to our server during preview, it would be possible to upload a malicious attachment and then leave without posting.  So, someone could do the nasty without revealing who they were.  Not that any member here would do such a thing, but it's better to just have it be impossible. 

Security is a big part of operating a forums system like this.  Our forums are attacked hundreds of times a day but we have several layers of security that keeps everyone's information safe and makes this all run smoothly.  Unfortunately, some of these measures do create some minor inconvenience.
