Just thought I would share this 2004 Ford Freestar misfire on cylinder 1, code set for primary circuit. This engine is hard to access so I used the under hood fuse center for current of primary and connected a break out box and checked primary voltage the good coils showed this image scroll down to see both good coils

Hi Mick,

The good coil Pico images show 2 primary spikes for the ignition event... so does this car's controller fire twice in succession (am I interpreting correctly)...?

Thanks,
Joe

Some more examples of multi strike ignition.

This animation starts at idle & reverts to a single event when the throttle is snapped. As it comes back down to idle the repetitive spark is reintroduced.

Hehehe.   Roll Eyes

If you can be patient I will work on something that might help with animated waveforms. They do bring an extra dimension to the learning process I think.

Cheers fellas
