I have been using a 4225 for the past 6 year and I am to the point of buying a new scope, I would like to keep using my kit and just buy a base unit. Looking at the 4225a or the 4823 . I work in a multi line shop , just on the fence of just updating to a 4 channel or jumping in to a 8 channel. Any advise would be great of what I should get .
Thank you
Scott

I have the 4823 after having the four channel for a long time. The 8 channel is super handy. You do not need the 8 channels all the time but 6 is very common.

Just something to keep in mind. Depending on how quickly you want to receive your order will depend heavily on what is available at the time.

Pico is not offering 4425A scopes in a bare scope module or starter kit form at the moment. They will not allow me to order them. The smallest 4425A kit I can order is the Standard kit. At time I write this I have exactly 1 standard kit in my possession. Any other order will likely take weeks or possibly months to fulfill.

4823 scope modules have been more available than 4425A units, but this can change.

We can build a 4823 into a sort of starter kit with our color matching leads and some attenuators if that is the direction you wish to go.

Email or call me when you are ready and I will tell you what I have and how long things could take.

We still offer those secondary ignition leads. The big differences are the attenuation and the connector. The colored test leads are attenuated to 1000:1 where as the Pico leads are 10,000:1(BNC or BNC+).

The new BNC+ connector is what allows the 4x25A scope modules to identify what lead is connected and automatically change scales from volts to kv, current etc. If you're looking at the 8 channel this does not apply. The 4823 8-channel scope uses the traditional BNC connector just like your 4425.

Good move. I have both sets of leads and attenuators and glad I do.
