PicoScope Hands on Class July 2012
May 15th, 2012 at 7:58am

We will be having another hands-on PicoScope class at the Autonerdz training center on Friday, July 13, 2012.

This will be a 6 hour session from 9AM till 3PM.  We will be having a lecture/demonstration part followed by an on vehicle practice session.  We have two test stations for live vehicle practice.

Registration is required and class size is limited so be sure to register early.  Bring your laptop and your PicoScope with you, as we will be using them all together in the lecture/demonstration part.

For our Picogroup members, this is a free class.  This is yet another benefit of the Autonerdz Picogroup support and training package.  We only suggest a small $20 donation to help cover the food and refreshments.

Those who wish to attend this session, who are not Picogroup members, will need to subscribe to the service and join the group.  The cost is $650 annually.  Of course, this will also plug you into all the other benefits of membership and allow you to attend future classes over the year free of charge.  As you know, purchasing an Autonerdz PicoScope package from us, or one of our affiliates in the US and Canada, will enroll you in the Picogroup at no additional charge and will not require annual renewal.

Here is a map from the Guest House Inn which is just off I-5 Exit 101.  For those of you from out of the area, this is a great place to stay.  You can call the Guesthouse Inn at 360-943-5040 for reservations.

For those that have attended before and took a plane, have you had any issues regarding the scope and laptop with airport security? You obviously carry them on rather than checking, right? Do you bring the whole kit with all the connectors and leads, or just the scope? I'm just wondering if they think I am going to blow something up with all the diagnostic equipment.

My other question is: airfair, hotel and car rental will be close to $500. The Nerd series is $600. Is the one day of hands-on training more beneficial than the 30 hours video training? I'd love to hear from anyone who has done both for comparison.

Smiley I have purchased the Nerd series & attended the hands on class. I also graduated from Tom's nerd series classes back in 2003. If I had to make a choice the Nerd series is packed with so much information, which you can review time and again. The hands on training was great in its own way. You just get alot more with the Series. Smiley

i haven't attended the hands on, nor do i have the nerdz series.  i'm guessing you will get more from the nerdz series that you can glean from over and over again.  however, the chance to meet tom, in person, is a privilege many, including myself, would jump at given the opportunity.  good luck with your choice.  Smiley Smiley
