The search function works very well if you follow some basic strategy.  See the image below.

Tip:  Once you get your results page, right click on each search result and open in separate tab or window to see if that is the thread you seek.  If not, then just close that and choose another.  This prevents you from leaving the search page and losing all the other results.

Good tips Tom, made it easier for me.

P.S. Looks like I'm the only one that ever uses this word...  Smiley

Thanks Tom

The only problem I have is knowing how to lay out the search words for the best results. Any tips on that?

Many variables there.  If you know you are searching for a specific phrase then choose match as phrase.  Match as all words returns only posts that contain each of the words somewhere in the post.  Match any word returns posts that have any one of the words in it.

It's knda like using Google.  You have to have some idea what you are looking for to get best results.  If you really don't know specifically what you are looking for then put in something that may get you there.  For example, you are seeking information on a Chrysler 3.5.  Casting a wide net...put in 3.5.  You may get some references to other makes with that engine size but may hit what you seek.

If you seek something you have not seen before, you don't know what words or phrase was in the post.  You may have to try a few likely things like you would with Google.
