Thanks, had not posted that on the public forums yet.  We first announced it here:

https://www.autonerdz.com/cgi/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1553769918

We will have some later this month.

We have the up on the site now for pre-purchase so you can reserve one:

It's a bad ass scope.

8 channel scope by itself https://www.autonerdz.com/scopeonly.html

Our custom kit https://www.autonerdz.com/4823octo.htm

The Pico Professional kit https://www.autonerdz.com/pq184.html

I've been hesitant to advertise these since we don’t actually have any, no one in North America does. As Tom mentioned, we should have them within a couple weeks.

Soooooooooo, are you going to have properly colored leads when you get your supply of scopes?  Can't be having double of the same colors, that's just crazy   ;)

As of now, the kits come from Pico with labeling tape for the standard leads used with channels 5-8. So yeah, 2 red, 2 blue, 2 yellow, and 2 green.

From what I've been told, (before I was an Autonerd  ;)) we had custom colored leads made for the 4824 (Test & Measurement 8 channel) for channels 5-8 a few years ago, due to so much interest in that scope.

We ended up sending most of the leads back because they just didn't sell as well as we thought they would.

We are taking more of a cautious approach this time around.
We may still end up getting the leads, but it really depends on the demand...

I wonder, would it be possible to use black leads for all eight channels and use some coloured tags at the leads ends where the BNC connections are, then set the scope channels to reflect the tags colours so you know at a glance which channel refers to which lead!

Yes, you could do that. Pico has updated the 8 channel kit contents to (4) colored test leads and (4) black test leads, along with labeling tape to mark the black leads to the corresponding channel.

We will have some in the office next week (FINALLY!!) to verify. 8-)

Thinking about it I would prefer stacking additional scopes into the application

I would of liked that as well! My feeling is now that the 8 channel is out that won't be considered. Even though a 12 channel would be cool.   8-)

Clearly with more channels screen real estate becomes a premium, a redesign of the screen format would help, or a laptop with greater vertical to horizontal ratio

And we must not forget that the more powerful the scope the more powerful the PC must be!

Indeed.  That would have been ideal.  But, due to technical difficulties, I think they gave up on that project.

This shouldn't require any more PC than the 4425 models.

Sure would like to be party to that as I fail to see why. Also from a market standpoint you would have sold a lot more additional 4 channel scopes than seperate 8 channel scopes.

Check this image showing the 4823 pedal to the metal outperforming a 4425 using four of eight channels.

I have been looking at the 8 channel scope on the pico site and i understand there is a different ground configuration than the 4 channel scope, the four channel scope uses independent ground per channel and the 8 channel scope has a common ground per channel, i understand this could influence a signal if using 2 different ground connections,

I would like to know if any one has any more information on this

The 4425 was the first Pico automotive scope NOT to have common channel grounds.

Some actually prefer the common ground configuration as you only need to ground one channel so hook up is somewhat simpler.  You do want to avoid using channel grounds on different things/locations as you can create a ground loop and cross up signals or ground stuff out.

If you do decide to get one, we have the best value kits available.
