Title: how to take apart toyota corolla connector
Post by tommy on Sep 3rd, 2014 at 9:26pm
Attached is a photo of the connector to power lock solenoid. I need to take apart this connector to allow me to remove a broken power window regulator, the power lock cable is routed thru the cables of the window regulator. I've tried twisting and pulling, pushing on the small tab and lifting the small tab but still unable to take apart this connector. so does anyone know the secret for taking this connector apart?

Most of them once they age need to be pushed together and the have the tab pryed up with a pocket screw driver, then pull apart. It may take a few goes to get it to budge.

Failing that try some compressed air to blow the grit out of it and retry.

Thanks for the tip, working the connector back and forth and flexing the tab really helped, the actual release of the connector requires pushing down on the tab and with enough force - really had to tug on it, it finally came apart :)

I know this thread is kinda old and the issue has been resolved, but, when i come across a stuck connector (especially VW) I grab my heat gun and warm it up a bit.  Very rarely does this not work.  This is of course after cleaning the connector as best I can to get any road grime ouyt of it.
