I forgot to ask bluesman, did you go to the event in Schaumberg?  If you did how were the classes?  Pick up anything new that would be cool to share?

I did go.  I signed up last minute so some courses were full.  They offered 30 somethins management / tech classes.  Half of what has been offered in the past.  Some of which I attended in some fashion or another previously.

Morning session was a Ford communication / module class.  I was disappointed with it.  My opinion..it was a remedial introductory course(they all are after a John Thornton class ).  The retired Ford engineer just read from the power point presentation.  All you needed was the book at that point.  Learned nothing new.  :/

Afternoon class was management--Assertiveness skills.  That was for my own personal growth.  I did take some things from that class.  It's not that I am a bad communicator one on one(verbal communication), I just needed to figure out how to deal with managers that have no technical background what-so-ever.  I learned the traits of Passive, Aggressive and Assertive personalities.  You have to hear the course.  Some key points in the pamphlet, mostly note taking.

I learned some things so it wasn't for nothing.  Not much to share though.

Hope it comes back to the area in 2016.

Cool.  Do you know of any John Thornton classes coming up that are in Illinois?

They finally did some more work to the Can conference site, look's interesting, I will be going.  Hope to see fellow nerdz there.  Whoever is going let me know.  Would like to meet fellow members and exchange info.  Plus this year I'm going to try and get a room at the hotel where the conference is at so I can have a couple of beers if I want and not worry about driving.

Yeah hopefully they will have more info up soon.  They were supposed to have Mike Cleary, but apparently his schedule is full during that time.  So don't know yet who will be there.  I'm hoping Bernie Thompson from ATS will be there.  Has a lot of good articles on his website and is very sharp.  Hopefully I will get to take one of his classes.
