Looks interesting.  I looked up the price and it's not half bad.  How do I contact the people in charge of the expo?  Did not see any contact information.  It also says the price includes 3 classes.  Do you have to register for the classes or you just walk in to the one you want to attend?  So I'm thinking the hotel room will cost a hundred or so for the night.   239.00 give or take, plus gas, not bad.  I might try to make it.  Plus I could go to the one in Schaumberg, IL if I missed anything.  You thinking of going Mick?

Hi Mike (bus J)
If you click on course it will take you to a registration form, from there after you fill it in your are registered, it looks as if there are only time slots for 2 courses for Saturday maybe the third would have been Friday only looked at it this afternoon.

For us Canadians or long distance travellers it clashes with Valentines day. I will take advice from the down under guys ::)

If not there's Shaumberg, IL, very close to me, a two hour drive give or take.  Piece of advice though, watch the toll roads around there, especially on I 294, they sneak up on you.  I missed two tolls by accident, had to pay a fine.  Just pay attention.  It looks like pretty much all the same instructors will be at the later expo.  Would be cool to have a nerd gathering.Lol. :D

Mick,

I'd love to go, Jeff has asked before if I was interested. But I have to decline this time as I'll be heading back from Florida at that time. Maybe next year.

Think I'm going to sit out on the expo in Michigan.  The weather forecast for the next couple weeks doesn't look good.  I might not be able to get there.  Gotta love winter time.  Schaumburg looks promising though.  I'm going to shoot for that one, plus they have lego land and some other things to do for my daughter and wife while I am at the expo.

Well our own Jim Wilson has been known to write for Standard Motor Products so if he has some material there it will be one for sure.

I have a great story to tell of a trip down to Lansing when it use to be held there.
White knuckle driving all the way to the border.
Then on the way back the most amazing ice storm had happened over night it made things looks so nice of a distraction that my driver and I missed a couple of turns and ended up just out side Chicago  [smiley=oops.gif]

Despite the conditions that forced them to abandon the Milwaukee version of this event, I really looked forward to this every year until they moved it to Illinois.  Maybe one of these days I'll venture into the "flat-lands" of Da Bears, but it would probably take a lot of Nerdz attendees to get it done.   [smiley=capinhook.gif]

I hear that this may be the last year for Schaumburg IL.  Attendance issues.  As with all excellent training, the only ones that want it will go.  I hope to get to Schaumburg(20 minutes North of me), I need to reschedule a bowling tournament my daughter has scheduled for that day.

As for three classes...not at Schaumburg.  Not sure why that typo has not been edited in the last three years.  Only Saturday classes.

If anyone plans on the Schaumburg date, let me know!

Ha, I think you will be alright. You guys act like you're in the mountains. Wisconsin doesn't get too uneven till you get north of Wausau.  I lived in Rhinelander for a couple years, it's definitely hilly up there.  Silly Cheese heads!  [smiley=lolk.gif]

Hey, I know what you mean.  My wife didn't know why I made fun of Wisconsinites for callin' folks from Ill. flatlanders until I took her back to my hometown in the Black Hills.  Of course I'm sure folks in Colorado make fun of me for the same reason.   :D

Just giving you some friendly banter. :)  Sounds like you're a good sport.
Well for what it's worth I went to the Schaumburg expo last year and it was good. My only gripe was that all the classes I was really interested in were all in the afternoon 1-4 pm I believe. So I just picked something for the morning class.
From the looks of the schedule they did the same thing this year too.

I started jumping classes the final year I went.  You can usually figure out how good the class will be within the first five minutes.  There was an "advanced" alignment class I jumped out of pretty quickly after flipping through the manual to find it full of the basics.  That turned out to be a good decision because Albin's class was just down the hall, and was much more entertaining.

There was a 5 gas emissions class by Steve Zack from OTC I nearly quit too because it was anything but an emissions class, but it got better when a certain "Driveability Guy" started questioning Mr. Zack.   [smiley=boxer.gif]
