Hi everyone,
Ok, My spell check used to work and now it doesnt. Can someone enlighten me on this please. Is this a computer setting or sight? It's bad enough being wrong all the time. I would like to atleast look smarter. :D |

I don't know about automatic spell checking, but in the upper right hand corner above the reply box is a "Check spelling" option. I assume it only checks your spelling the one time though. I'm using the Google Chrome browser these days so it automatically checks as I type, and someone pointed out some time ago that when it shows that you misspelled something you can right click it for options.

Title: Re: Spell check Post by Tom Roberts on Aug 16th, 2013 at 8:12am Karl, After I was dragged kicking and screaming and forced to update to IE10, I noticed that the check spelling option didn't find misspellings anymore....But the IE 10 was doing it anyway as I type. Chrome behaves the same. What browser are you using? |

OK guys,
I looked into this deeper. The forums spell check feature is dependent on an external service. This service died at the location that it was being linked from. Good news is that It isn't dead. The spell proxy was still available at a different URL. So....I was able to edit that part of the YaBB script that makes the spell check work and redirect it. Thanks to Dandello on the YaBB forums for this solution. This happened about the same time I went to IE 10 so I thought it was just me and my browser. Since you brought this up, I tried in on an older XP machine with IE8 on it and it was broken there too. So then I know we had a real issue on the boards and went searching for a fix. Looks like we have it going again... [smiley=jump.gif] |
