Title: Intro from South Africa Post by Picowit on Oct 15th, 2009 at 11:31am
Hi all
New @ autonerdz but been active on the Megasquirt and jag-lovers forums since 06. Most likely I'll end up "taking" much more than I can give initially but hopefully over time I'll be able to contribute constructively. I bought a standard 4424 and initially had some issues but it seems like either my notebook PC has two USB 1.0 ports and two USB2.0 or the ports I was using are "diminished in performance". Using another port, it seems like the problems are gone (mostly). Although I bought the standard 4424, I will be using it mostly on my Megasquirt (EFI) related activities. Greetings from South Africa. |

Welcome to the forums, Philip.
Are you still getting a "Device Not Found" message? |

It would be good to talk about the Megasquirt - not so many people know about it. It is a controller (ECM) that you build yourself. Some folks assemble them for a price and they can be contacted online. It would be an upgrade for instance, for my van - '82 Ford - with it's obsolete carburetor. I can put stock Ford fuel injection on it and power it with a megasquirt. One programs this unit himself.
