Title: To synchronize oscilloscope channels effectively Post by PicoDavid on Apr 24th, 2025 at 9:18am
This might come across sounding a little strange or odd, but I know what I'm trying to achieve, with some difficulty because believe it or not, all the old school brains in the electronics world are retiring or already retired. My local electronics shop which started in 1948 closed in 2021, and these two women who owned and run that business will be sadly missed. I don't think I'd met anyone with the experience and understanding those two women showed in their experience. The internet is simply not the same, when you can walk in through the door and have discussions about subjects and problems, I don't think the internet can compete, but we try!
All that said, I'm looking at linking two or three scopes together, but not to be used all the time in such a manner, just when the needs arise. I'm not sure if Pico have any such device as in the title to link and sync scopes? Thank you for any advice. |

Combining more than 1 scope for data collection can be done but its clunky at best.
If you don't need a substantial sample rate you can use Pico's PicoLog software. https://www.picoauto.com/downloads In my testing you can get a maximum of 1 sample every millisecond. Otherwise to run 2 scopes you'll need to use 1 channel from each scope to synchronize the captures from 2 different copies of the software running at the same time. |

Thanks Trevor. That seems to take care of the software side of things, but I was primarily thinking about linking the actual scopes?

With "linking" you refer to see channels from different/multiple scope on the same screen at the same time? There is no way I'm aware to achieve that.

To my knowledge there is no way of combining Picoscopes in a way where every channel is available in the software as if it were just one large scope. It worth noting that it may be achievable since Pico has released the SDK so software developers can make custom software that interfaces with their scope modules. I do not poses the programming skill to bring such a project to life though. |

Thanks again, I'll keep the thread updated as I learn more... |
