Title: Hello from Grand Rapids, Michigan
Post by TrevorSchlientz on Jan 30th, 2016 at 3:13pm
Hello everyone,

After dreaming and drooling over picos for the last 6 or so years I've finally ordered mine.

I look forward to enhancing my skills as well as fixing some tough problems. That being said, feel free to drop me your $0.02 on technique and exercises.

Hi Trevor Welcome!

How big is Grand Rapids? You must know a buddy of mine from there.

I will be down that way for the Tech Expo are you going?

I've never been to the tech expo. Seems like a complete failure on my part. Maybe I'll change that this year. I know there are a few Pico guys in the area.

Welcome to the group Trevor. One of the members here is Bob. His screen name is "Abndanger" on here. Real nice to know and he is from Grand Rapids as well. You should look him up. I consider him a friend and I think it's the buddy Mick may be mentioning in his post.

Again welcome to the group and hope to see you on here posting and sharing.

I know a Bob here in GR. We attend the same lectures. He's the one who suggested I look into Auto Nerdz.

Hi Trevor,

Welcome to the Pico Group. We all learn everyday here. No matter how experienced you are.

Just remember the only stupid question is the one not asked. We are all here to help and guide each other.

If you like, either post here or send me a PM as to what shop you work at here in GR. We can get together sometime and do some self training ;)

I probably know you but just don't relate the last name. I get around to a lot of the shops and know more people by their first than last :)

You should try and go to the Auto Value Tech Expo and also look into the John Thorton classes here in the area which are conducted about 6-8 times a year. Both John & Eric do a great job for us Indy's.

Here is the link to the Expo

Sweet! I do know who Trevor is now. Always sits in John's class in the front and all the way to the right :)

Glad you were able to save up enough $$$. The package deal with the forum makes it a valuable asset because you will be drawing from a larger knowledge pool whom take the Pico to the next level :)

Were you able to get the WPS as well?

Yeah Abndanger, that's me.

Unfortunately I was not able to order a WPS at this time.

I do have a transducer/sensor I put together from parts off ebay. I would never compare it to the real thing but the pattern worked well enough so far. I use it more comparatively than absolute. I also have a Piezo sensor that works like a FLS. (Baby bottle FLS)

Hey Trevor,

If you ever get in a bind let me know. I do have two of them and once you use it a couple times you will find a way to buy one from Tom :)
