Title: Mercedes 230k 2002 with Ignition-Problems
Post by Christian on Jul 14th, 2012 at 6:34am
Hi,

Car sometimes start very bad, and shoots
out the exaust.
It throws out Codes :

P0335 Crank Sensor Cicuit
P0336 Crank Range Performance
P0101 Mass-Air-Flow Range

The Cranksensor was replaced 3 times from
3 different shops, without any change.

I took a few shots of CAM and Crank....

I donīt think the Crank-Sensor is the Problem...

Is this a Mercedes C230 Kompressor?  Was this data file taken while the engine was acting up?  Have you checked the MAF sensor since that is setting a code aswell?  Wiring is all intact and doesn't change the signal if pulled and pushed on does it?  Does this problem happen hot or cold?  The more info you could give us the better.

Yes a Kompressor.
Yes, started badly while file was taken.
I would say, warmer it gets worse.
Didnīt see any wire-pulling/pushing changes.
No, didnīt look nearer at the MAF, cause it was
changed and the bad starting also comes, if it is
disconnected.
What are you thinking of ? Oil ?

Took a Pic with the WPS500 in Zylinder 1....

Not really thinking much of anything at this point, not very familiar with MB vehicles.  I looked over the testing for the codes you listed, not much information to go on, at least from my source.  Your captures seem to show good signals on the cam and crank.  Where did you test these signals from?  Maybe try at the PCM to ensure the signals are getting all the way there.  Do all those codes return when the vehicle has the starting issue, or just the crank codes?

I think i found the Cause of the Errors...
The ECU is right...it canīt count what doesnīt
pass the 0 line...

Where'd this picture come from?  I didn't see it do that in the previous files that you posted.

Nope, the one i posted was at idle at Morning...
So you couldnīt find it in that one.
This was one from the afternoon.
But file to big to attach...
I just didnīt want to belive that the ECU
was putting out that code without
any Cause and wanted to find why it was
saying such thing, but it was right ;)

They only replaced the Sensor, never the Cable to it.

Good idea with MAF...iīll take a look.

How do you have your leads hooked up to get your CKP trace? It seems to be backwards... You can invert it without redoing the trace.

Now how was I to know if you do not quote or at least mention my name?

"You are not allowed to access this section. " :)

Here is the next part of communicating. Explaining what it is you are trying to convey... Now that I (we) know we can understand your post.

Are you a paid member (in other words "picogroup") or came in on the public side labeled "General Pubic Area"? The link was in the "Picogroup area" so you need to be a member to get in there.

Think on that and answer those questions and we'll go from there.   8-)
