Is this what you wanted to do, Rod? I see you used the short share link for the video. For some reasin that does not work with the insert media button. I copied the url in the browser location bar and used that. Not sure why your inserted mp4 video is separating out of the viwer when you scroll the page....at least it is on my PC.... Was that done with Quicktime? |

Yes Tom. Thanks. I haven't used the short links here before, I didn't realize that they don't work with the insert media option. Tom Roberts wrote on Mar 11th, 2012 at 8:16am:
No, I made it with a program i am playing with. This file doesn't contain a proper header structure and I was playing around with audio codecs, I think that is why it is not embedding and playing correctly. |

http://www.autonerdz.com/cgi/yabb2/YaBB.pl?action=downloadfile;file=thisone.wmv Explanation: I thought this was a good idea at the time but it is turning out to be a lot more of a challenge than i had bargained for... I am toying with the idea of adding a case study wizard to the automotive fix database. The idea was to use a repair records information and linked files, add additional images and audio if desired, and compile them to build a video case study. I am using an open source program called ffmpeg to create the video files and I am having quality issues when I try to add the audio regardless of the specs I specify. This last test is minus audio and the quality is good. The wmv2 codec is compatible with the site and the quality is an improvement over the flv used with the mp4 file. In this test, I attached the wmv file as an attachment and saved the post. I then copied the link for the video file, selected the modify post option, then inserted the media using the link location. So, it is looking for the attached file. (I hope that linking the media file to the same posts attachment doesn't screw with anything, Tom) :) ![]() |
