Hi Darren,
First of all, let me say that you found one of the most "elite" professionals in our trade. Tom Roberts has helped so many people around the world. He loves what he does and it shows.
I had been using oscilloscopes for quite some time. The warmth of an analog scope was hard to let go of when the Digital Storage Oscilloscope came about. I quickly realized the capabilities of a DSO surpassed the capabilities of an analog scope. So now I need to re-think what I want. No suprise that I reverted to a DSO. Even today, some designers cant let go of that warmth of a analog scope.
I would advise you to check out specs if you like. There is one thing that you won't find is anything comparable to the PicoScope is the record length and 12 bit vertical resolution. I know of $15,000 DSO's that cant match it. I'm only scuffing the surface on what you can do with it.
Your on the right track for your interest in the Pico. I can't imagine being without mine.
Regards,
Carl
