The earlier versions of Picoscope locked up on XP at time bases of 100ms/div or longer unless using block mode.
I suggest you start by making sure you have the latest version of Picoscope. The software is updated regularly fixing problems like this as well as adding new features. The updates are FREE and can be downloaded from the link below.
Just install it into the directory you are using now and say yes when it wants to overwrite and it will update the core software without altering the automotive features. A full automotive version update should be available in the near future.
