The DCTI Dual Channel Transducer Interface

The Dual Channel Transducer Interface, the DCTI, is an innovative instrument that will connect two pressure transducers to a multimeter or lab scope, allowing the technician to measure two pressures and/or vacuum events simultaneously.  Unique two channel independent low-pass filtering empowers you to see what you want and not the unwanted noise. Universal cable allows filtering to be used for any scope capture applications (such as low-amp current probes).

D.CT.I. Interface:
• Internal 9 volt battery driven
• Outputs 5 volts regulated up to limit of 9 volt battery
• Two independent variable first-order Butterworth passive low-pass filters (300-3,000 Hz @ 3db)
• Rugged rubber encapsulated enclosure
• Enclosure is internally nickel coated for complete EMI/RFI shielding
• Interface cables are foil shielded with drain wire

• Can use existing transducers with any lab scope or multi-meter
• The ability to power 5 VDC devices
• Use without transducers as a high frequency noise filter for other scope needs

 

This capture illustrates the relationship between cylinder pressures and intake pressures. Channel A of the DCTI was measuring cylinder pressure for a running compression test on cyl #6 and channel B was monitoring intake pressure. Channel C is ignition #1 for reference. The other channel is a maths channel to invert the scaling for channel B. Note how the cylinder pressures and the intake pressure follow each other exactly. 50% of the DCTI filtering was used on both inputs.

In this 182x zoom we see the details. A 4x vertical zoom has been applied to the maths channel showing intake pressure. Note how you can see each individual cylinder intake pulse. Note also the beautiful cylinder compression waveform. Need we say more?
