New guy from MINI Cooper in Texas...
Feb 27th, 2015 at 6:35pm

Hello!!
I was a Master Toyota tech for the past 6 years, where we had our own picoscope setups and I started using it more and more over the last few years and absolutely fell in love.

I have since moved to MINI cooper and the scope they provide us with....well...is very outdated to say the least.

So today, I picked up a 4225 kit and cant wait to start using it and showing the guys at work what all you can do with it.

Just wanted to stop in and say hi!

Sadly, I did not.  I had a budget and had to stick with it. I emailed Autonerdz, never got a response back so I went with AESwave since they price matched a advertised price online.

We responded to your email.  I have no idea why you didn't receive it.  Maybe it's in your spam folder or was blocked from you.  We always respond to emails.

Too bad you didn't pick up the phone.  You could have saved a lot of money and got a better value.

All is not lost though.  You still have to option to subscribe to the Picogroup resources.

We hear this from time to time.

I thought I would just do my own research and made these observations.

On a 4425 standard kit from the image below you can see what is in each kit from Autonerdz and AES,

The AES does not include:

4 secondary 1000:1 leads
2 large crocodile clips
2 10:1 attenuators
2 Y/G piercing probes

I priced these extras out both places

AES $326
AN   $298

So the price of the AES unit $2312

The price of the AN  unit $2575

If we add in the extras not included in the AES kit into their kit price    $2538

AES kit price increases by $263 more.

Or a difference of $37 more expensive.

We haven't even talked about the free pico group resources subscription worth $650 a year included in these kits.

I am so sorry for you

2k, If I were you, I would return the kit you purchased from Aes Wave and buy from Autonerdz, best value bar none.  This is the best place to be for training and support for a Pico Scope.  Call Autonerdz and you will be convinced, trust me, been a happy customer for over 2 years now. Wink

I do apprecaite you doing your own research for me to try to figure out what is best for what I need...But To late to send it back now. All my budget allowed me to get now was JUST the 4225 bare  no attachments, which is fine since I have two Amp clamps, BNC test leads, and a 10:1 and 20:1 attenuator already to get me started.
I will however be buying some other accessories from you guys when the budget allows and I will be looking into the picogroup resources link you posted after I post this.

For whatever reason, I did not get the Email, it may have gone to spam. I just skim over the emails in there and trash them once a week. It is possible I missed it.
Thanks

Maybe after you discover that two channels just don't cut it, you can pick up one of our PicoQuad kits.

In any case, welcome and enjoy the forums.  You'll find plenty in the public areas to keep you busy for a while.  When you thirst for more, let us know....    Wink
