Hi folks, I'm Dusty from Texas. I spend a few years working for Ryder and Sears, and then 11 years at a Lexus dealership, where I was introduced to the Picoscope. As crazy as it may sound, I left that well paying job for an independent shop, with the goal of building my skills and versatility for the future. So far I have enjoyed the challenge, and I've been able to realize the value of DSO's in the shop. Of course I have a lot of questions and a lot of concepts to learn, but I look forward to it.

Hello Dusty

Busjockey, Ryder was about 15 years ago and I was doing mostly PMs and light repairs on the yellow trucks. Mike I may take you up on that Nissan advice, I've got a problematic Quest right now, but I hope to get it sorted out Monday morning. Thanks guys!

Well, it came in with a P0174. The MAF seemed to test good, among other things, but the B2S1 A/F was unresponsive. Replaced it, of course it started working correctly, but both fuel trims immediately shot way up. Got a P0171 and P0174 on my test drive. Smoke tested and found a crack on the upper intake, as well as a leak at the VAIS actuator. The customer brought in a used intake that I smoked before installation (this is a high mileage cab). The fuel trims were single digit on my test drive, but climbed up after an extended idle. No codes in pending yet but TFT is in the 20's. I had to turn it back over to the guy so he can make some cash this weekend, but it should be back this morning.

Ours had a unresponsive B1S1 A/F sensor. We replaced it, did a fuel trim reset and the TSB for the issue requiring a re flash.

All is well now.
