Pico using micro USB?
Jul 21st, 2014 at 12:44pm

Not sure if this is the best place to post this, if not it can be moved.

I am looking at a few smaller type computers and many of them only have a micro USB is it possible to use Pico via a micro USB?

The computer I am thinking about is the Asus Transformer T100 any thoughts on it as well?

Thanks Sam

When I was shopping 6 months ago, most of the laptops I was looking into that only had mirco USB were only equipped with Windows 8 RT
I don't think Pico will run on RT

On the cable issue, the pico has a square, printer type USB connection. USB type B, I think is the official designation?
I have never seen a micro usb to usb type B cable.

I did know about the RT issue, this supposedly is full windows 8.1 and from what I can tell there is USB 3.0 on they key board/ base but it would be nice for portability to use the micro port when separated.

I definitely think the specs are a bit weak for power use of the Pico.  However, I think it would work for a few parking lot scope captures.

The reviews for the T100 that I have seen so far look primarily positive.

I looked around & found a couple of adapter cables that would convert a standard USB cable to a microUSB port. Here's one http://www.amazon.com/eForCity%C2%AE-Micro-USB-OTG-Adapter/dp/B005QX7KYU/ref=pd_... & another. http://www.amazon.com/CNE13028-Female-Micro-On-The-Go-Adapter/dp/B005GI2VMG/ref=... Maybe one of these might do what you want.
