Chevrolet Matiz 0.8 Petrol/LPG - P0300
Aug 2nd, 2013 at 1:18pm

Hi,

I have a cute little Car with a P0300 that is
coming back while driving normal.
Sometime the Car acts like it doesnīt fire
at all for a second...
I took a few quick captures of the Ignition at idle
and then the foot to the floor and off.

Did it with Petrol and with LPG.
While driving in Petrol the MIL did not light up
and no code set on Testdrive.
Drove the same way back with LPG and the MIL came
half the way back.

Maybe someone has good ideas.
The dealer wants to replace the Cylinder head.

One quick Amp Capture of the Ignition Coil.
Only has this one for all 3 Cylinders.
Would think that is not the problem.

Because what the dealer would do, i took
a capture of the MAP-Sensor.
Idle and 2 WOT...donīt see anything
screaming "Replace me"...

Took compression readings - all Cylinders have
about 11,5bar (about 165 psi).

Hi Christian,
Couldn't see anything in your captures...
These little 800cc Daewoo/Chevrolet monsters are popular in my area.
I have seen two different ones over time with complaints that had been hard to catch.

One turned out to be a faulty MAP sensor that would cause either a random stall and would start straight back up or give a few quick bucks on the road that felt a little like an ignition misfire.

The other one had similar symptoms turned out to be a couple of fretted terminals at the PCM. When I finally got around to looking at the PCM, a slight wiggle of the connector would cause it to act up.

Hi,

Thanks for the tips.

Would you think that there is a possible chance
that the Head is bad as the dealer says ?
He thinks there is somehing wrong with the valves
or the valveseats.

He says "that normal for this engine - new Head".
But the girl who owns the car does not have
$$ under the pillow, to put it in this "chance".

I am not convinced that this is the problem.
If it would be something mechanical like
the valves, then the problem should be the same
on petrol and on LPG ? Or am i making a mistake
there ?
