PicoScope Software Advisory
Apr 28th, 2011 at 2:53pm

Due to the increasing number of techs that have been downloading the current 6.5.74 PicoScope release from the Pico site, it has become necessary to extend our software advisory beyond our Picogroup members.

We advise that you do not install the 6.5.74 release.  If you have installed it, uninstall it.  It won't hurt anything to use it but you will get a totally wrong idea about PicoScope quality and performance and may conclude that PicoScope isn't very good.   Embarrassed

We want all of you to have a good experience with PicoScope and, whether you are just a potential user simply opening data files from our site, or using it with PicoScope hardware, you will not have a good experience with this build.   Cry

We have two functional software alternatives for you:

PicoScope6Automotive_r6_5_54.exe (beta):

https://autonerdz.egnyte.com/h-s/20110428/8c3f43bb5a844bce

PicoScope6Automotive_r6_4_95.exe (release):

https://autonerdz.egnyte.com/h-s/20110428/ed8a45576e974ecb

Either one of these will allow you to have a quality PicoScope experience.

The above links will expire in one month.  I'm confident Pico will have the issues corrected by then and have a new release out.  They are working on it.   Wink

Your links are broken. I have an old download and will reinstall. I had figured something was wrong. Kept getting weird results.

Thomas,

The links expired on purpose.  We knew Pico would come out with better ones soon.

The 6.5.78.5 is indeed MUCH better than 6.5.74.

Some issues.  We are evaluating this and some other 6.6 alpha builds.  All our detailed software discussions take place in the Picogroup areas.

The only reason this advisory on the 6.5.74 was posted here is because we needed to prevent more users from downloading that one so they didn't get the wrong idea and conclude that Pico doesn't work   Wink

Forget about all the 6.5.xx PicoScope builds. 6.6.2.13 Beta is now available.  Quite possibly the best ever.

Hour long tutorial and full discussion in the Picogroup area.
