Picoscope 6 Automotive

G'day all,
I have had the Picoscope 6 software crash a couple of times in the past.
Today though, I tried the Automotive preset for Coolant Temperature Sensor. I had 5 crashes trying to perform this function. Some of those occasions there was no trace appearing on the screen at all.
When I sped up the time base from the default of 50sec/div it started to display a trace for a while and then crashed.
I was able to repeat the crash again by setting the time and voltage manually. What am I doing to cause this? I haven't heard of anyone else having problems so I am assuming its user error.
Please help.
Thanks,
Rod

Probably nothing.  What software version are you running with your 4423?  How much RAM does your PC have and does it have USB 2.0?

We have extensive reviews and analysis of each software build in our Picogroup areas.  Skype me and I can introduce you our PicoScope support system.

Thanks for the reply Tom,
Sorry to trouble you guys over such trivial problems.
I am using a Panasonic Toughbook. It was recommended on a Pico Video!
1Gb Memory, 60% free of 120Gb HD, USB 2.0

I emailed pico tech support also. It was recommended that I try the beta version of the Software.
I am going to try it again today with the fresh install. See what happens.
Thanks

Rod,

PC sounds up to the task.

The release version does not work well with the 4000 series.  Our 4000 series users are using the beta.  6.2.3.13 is the most stable of these at this time.

Thanks for the help Tom,
Sure enough it was simply the release version. All is fine now after installing the beta version. I was a little worried I hurt my new toy in some way..
Thanks again!

Where would I find this beta release? At www.picoauto.com I can only get version 6.2.2.12.

Thanks,
-Kai-

You're welcome, Rod.  The beta has a lot of neat new features too   Wink

Kai,

Just look for the Pico Labs link to get the beta.  The current beta is 6.2.4.10.

Hi Tom,

Is this beta version stable? Is it as stable as the  6.2.3.13 version.

Thanks
Earl
