Title: The Interview
Post by Tom Roberts on Jun 5th, 2015 at 3:19pm
I was recently asked do do an interview for Reid Lunde's 'Do It For A Living' site:

https://do-it-for-a-living.myshopify.com/blogs/podcasts/episode-029-autonerdz-founder-tom-roberts-is-a-tech-guy-who-s-assembled-a-top-notch-team-with-top-notch-service

Check out some of the other podcasts as well.  I am humbled to be included with this bunch.

Edit:
Link was dead so I updated it.

Edit Again...
Link dead again....  It seems that Do It For a Living is gone now.  Nope....  Just moved domains.  Link updated.

Here is the audio on our server so it won't get lost again...:

Way to go Tom!  Saw the picture of you three.  I know which one Andrew is but hmmmm, which one is Brian and who is the fearless leader?   :D ;D

The foolish leader is in the middle.  Brian on my right and Andrew on my left.

Thanks guys.  There was more but Reid did a good job on the editing to cut it down to an hour.

Tom,

Great job on the interview. It is nice to learn more about you and your team as in the grass roots theme of things. ;)

I liked the way they handled the interview. No bashing of competitors. Just to the point of who you are and what it took to get you where you are now and the risks you took :)

One question though? You guys ever  :)?

Andrew looks like he could be a Navy Seal ;)

I did not ever imagine Brian to look so much like Tom, then I saw Andrew and the myth of having to look alike to work with Tom got thrown out the window, unless Andrew has a relative that does and there's a chance of age transformation. ;)

Smiling is an option!

Great interview Tom [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Great job Tom,

I can't believe how much Brian favors Peter Meier. I though it was him at first , but then it dawned on me, he has the Autonerdz shirt on too. ;D

Tom I listened to your story in 2016 and it help me to make a decision to open my current shop. When you said to put both feet in, that's what I did exactly and it worked. Thanks for sharing.

I closed down the old shop and concentrated all my time and efforts to get the new shop up and running. I was able to do all of the work myself. The sacrifice saved me tons of money and I learnt many things in the process. It was a very difficult period but worth the effort. Thanks again for all that you said in that podcast

Wish I had gone there for training when I bought my scope in 2009. My two regrets are not taking up Tom's offer for scope training and not buying the Nerdz Series when I first saw them in 2006. I know I would have saved years off my diagnostic learning curve.

My advise to all new scope onwers is to buy those Nerdz CDs early and start practicing.
