You may recognize Pete’s name from his articles in Motor Age magazine and other trade publications. Pete has been turning wrenches for over 35 years and counting, and is an ASE CMAT with L1. He expanded his professional horizons in November of 2005 with his first published article in the pages of ImportCar magazine. He now regularly contributes to several industry publications both here in the U.S. and Canada. In addition, Pete completed his first book, Automotive Driveability: A Guide to Engine Performance Diagnosis, in July of 2007, and is currently working on his second, focusing on practical electrical system testing and diagnosis.
Along with staying busy as a full time technician in Tampa, Florida and as a magazine contributor, Pete is also an evening, advanced automotive instructor at Traviss Technical Center in Lakeland, Florida and is certified by both the Polk County School District, and the National Association of Technical and Trade Instructors. If that weren’t enough, he is now very involved with the Mobile Air Conditioning Society as an instructor and technical contributor and is MACS’s first “AC Technician of the Year”, having won that title in 2006.
In April, 2007, Pete started AutoServiceTech.com to provide relevant information for technicians of all skill levels, professionals and DIYers. He has since expanded the business to include on-site training, and the offer of specific diagnostic products from sources that share his passion for quality and value, as well as practicality for the “average” tech. · Group Therapy With The Picotologist
Sessions. These
monthly live voice enabled Internet sessions enable users to interact with each
other exchanging files as well as helpful tips and techniques.
· Email Support. This is often a great way to get your issue
resolved. We can’t see what your doing on the phone but sending us your
data file allows us to see exactly what you are doing and helps us to give more
exacting suggestions.
· The PicoScope CD. This CD contains hours of PicoScope
training in Flash movie format and more. We have training on PicoScope 5
as well as the new PicoScope 6 versions. These will really help flatten
that learning curve and turbocharge your PicoScope experience
· Personalized Assistance. When needed, we can get into your PC with you and provide direct assistance. This requires the installation of free VNC software.
· The Autonerdz Community Forums. Access to the PicoScope Users section
of the Autonerdz Community
Forums. Now including web delivered Flash tutorial movies. Also
supplied on CD.
None of this is
meant to replace the fine direct Pico Technology factory support. This
package is meant to enhance your PicoScope experience. None of us has all
the answers and some issues require factory support. Also, We reserve the
right to go on vacation :-) Unlike the support subscription when
purchased separately, the support package that comes with a kit purchase from
Auto-Know does not expire as long as you own the equipment. However, if
you upgrade your hardware by purchasing from another supplier, obviously the
support package no longer applies to you. Be sure to talk to us before
purchasing a newer model PicoScope. Loyalty is well rewarded.
